That Old Time Rock and Roll

Get ready to step back to the glory days of 1980s Australian rock with one of Sandgate’s best pub bands.
Aussie Aussie Aussie will be playing at the Sands Bowlo on Saturday, 27 July.
Speaking to the Sandgate Guide, lead singer Jon Twartz said the band were gearing up to play “all the classics”.
“We’re a six-piece band, all from around the local area, and we’ve been playing together for 10 years,” he said.
“We do all the songs people know from all the bands they love – Goanna, Australian Crawl, AC/DC, the Divinyls.
“Everything from the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, and some ‘90’s stuff in there as well.”

Aussie Aussie Aussie will be playing a three-hour gig at the bowlo, consisting of three 45-minute sets starting at 7pm.
“We’re just excited to be there and blow the audience away,” Jon said.
“We try to play the songs as close as possible to the originals – it’s loads of fun; the guitarist gets down into the audience.
“You know, we just love our rock and roll; it’s a party.”
Jon added the songs of that era were special to anyone who remembers that time.
“A lot of people just love that era, even young people now are listening to that music – because there’s no real bands anymore,” he said.
“We don’t do any synth, there’s no backing tapes, it’s just good time music.
“If you grew up with that music, you love it. We’re old school.”
Jon promised anyone at the gig would “feel like they did back in the day”.
“We’re going to take you right back there, so bring your dancing shoes and sing along,” he said.
“We are going to transport you back to those days, those times, you will love it. We’re excited to be there and excited to be rocking the Bowlo.”
Tickets for adults are $10. Children under 18 are free but must be accompanied by an adult.
