With a mix of family-friendly activities and vibrant parties, Sandgate is set to deliver an unforgettable New Year’s Eve.
A standout event is happening at the Full Moon Hotel, where ‘Midnight Magic – Dancing in the Moonlight’ promises an unforgettable night. Special guests Tuffy & Nik, renowned Queensland soloists now performing as a duo, will perform from 8pm, playing a mix of tunes to keep the dancefloor buzzing all the way to the midnight countdown.
Lucinda Dowling Black, Director of The Full Moon Hotel, said, “If you grew up in Queensland, you’ll remember when Tuffy and Nik Phillips ruled the beer gardens in the 90s, and their reunion as Nik and Tuffy has been nothing short of electric.
“After two incredible New Year’s Eves at the Full Moon, they’re back by popular demand for a third – and it’s sure to be a charm – to keep the dancefloor lively all night long.”
Entry is free and the dress code is ‘shimmer and shine your way’. There will be chef specials available, with the restaurant open until 9pm. Cocktail specials are also on offer, with bar snacks until late.

For families looking for a fun and relaxed evening, The Sands Bowlo is hosting a family-friendly celebration, ‘New Year’s Eve by the Coast’ from 6pm.
Mikael Smith, Venue Manager for The Sands Social and The Sands Bowlo, said this year’s New Year’s Eve event would place a stronger focus on creating a family fun experience.
“We’re expanding the event to include a petting zoo, lawn games, craft stations and more,” Mikael said.
“For families, the atmosphere will feel playful, relaxed and a welcoming safe space where kids can have fun, and parents can unwind rather than just supervise. With friendly activities, animals and crafts, it will feel like a summer community festival.
“As night progresses and families with young children head home, the mood will shift into a classic NYE celebration. The goal is to make the night feel like two events in one.”
At the Bowlo, there will be live music from KlusterfunK from 8.30pm to 12.30am.
At The Sands Social, there will be a live music celebration with Mono from 8.30pm into the countdown.
Venturing into the city? The Lord Mayor’s Fireworks will return to South Bank, bringing a vibrant New Year’s celebration to the Brisbane River and skyline. Make a day of it and arrive early to secure a good spot.
