3. Treaty of Paris (TOP Sandgate)
Treaty of Paris (TOP) is the new kid on the bakery scene in Sandgate. It was voted in at 3rd place most likely because most locals are yet to discover this new hotspot in Sandgate. After opening in early 2024, it has swiftly established itself as a café that caters to a diverse palate, becoming a haven for coffee, breakfast and lunch aficionados.
Sunny, the French pastry chef, makes the best almond croissants in Brisbane. In fact, Treaty of Paris have already served more than 4,400 croissants since opening earlier this year. The pain au chocolat, caramelised apple Danish and citrus tarts are all baked fresh in house.
Our new favourite is the New York croissant, a round flaky treat filled with a light Belgian chocolate mousse and dipped in delicious chocolate ganache. It was seriously love at first bite!
TOP is a coffee shop with gourmet foodie options like salmon eggs benedict and everything is made in house, from the bread to their special smoked brisket. You can expect incredible food for a fair price. We can’t say anymore. You need to visit!

4. Bracken Ridge Bakery
If you head over to Bracken Ridge, you will find another top bakery to enjoy a pie or a stuffed baguette. We recommend the garlic, fetta and cheese pull-a-part that you may or may not choose to share. They are crispy and full of flavour. You can sink your teeth into the chunkiest chunky steak pies ever or sample the lamb and gravy pie that is hard to beat. The service from Morris is first class and the prices are super competitive with other bakeries in the area.
Karen shared “I bought a garlic and fetta twist (yum), half loaf of bread, bacon and cheese roll straight out of the oven and a jam donut for only $15.” There aren’t many places where your hard-earned cash will stretch that far.
We love that at Bracken Ridge Bakery you can pre-order vegetarian options like sausage rolls. For those whole love healthy eats, you can request a freshly made sandwich/roll filled with your choice of fresh meats and salads.
They’ve got sweets covered too. The custard donut and vanilla slice are particularly good. This is another spot that sells out, so get in early.

Don’t come to this café if you are chasing a loaf of bread. Instead visit for the banana bread French toast and other incredible breakfast options.
We award extra points to this business for being allergy friendly with plenty of coeliac options. The building itself is eccentric and fun to be in. Be sure to book in advance, especially on weekends.
