The cost of living is really starting to bite. This month I have been hunting down where to buy cheap meat across Brisbane and have found some great options – if you are prepared to plan ahead, travel a bit and split the bulk buying (and petrol costs) with a friend!
When on special, these are roughly the prices you should be paying:

Here are some of the places across Brisbane to find a bargain.
Augusta Farms Meat Market – Chandler
Known for bulk meat deals and weekly specials across beef, lamb and pork. A popular family-run butcher for stocking the freezer.
Big Gun Wholesale Meats – Underwood
These guys regularly post specials online and are famous for bulk buys like 12kg boxes of chicken wings for around $30.
Costco – North Lakes & Bundamba
If you are happy to buy in bulk and pay the membership, Costco still has competitive pricing on mince, pork and chicken.
Fresh n Save – Deagon & Richlands
Not just groceries! Their meat section is surprisingly affordable and good quality for the price.
Golden Cockerel Outlet Shop – Mount Cotton
This factory outlet sells discounted chicken products, often reduced because of short dates, damaged packaging or labelling issues. The stock changes daily and it is very much a “grab it while you can” situation.
Hans Factory Shop – Wacol
Worth checking their Facebook page for daily specials and discounted smallgoods.
Ingham’s Lytton Factory Outlet – Lytton
Bulk chicken bargains are the big drawcard here, with trays and cartons of fresh and frozen products at discounted prices.
Marjax Meats – Rothwell
Locals rave about the service, value packs and huge range of bulk meat options.
Mega Meat – Browns Plains
Weekly specials, giveaway promotions and decent prices on Angus rump and family meat trays.
Rocklea Meat Market – Rocklea
If you want bulk, they mean BULK. You can literally buy half a cow here if you have the freezer space!
Super Butcher – Multiple Locations
One of Brisbane’s best-known discount butcher chains, with value packs, online ordering and regular specials.
Remember, prices change constantly and the best deals often sell out quickly. My biggest tip? Follow your favourite local butcher or outlet on Facebook before heading out because most post their daily specials online first.
