See!? Sandgate is Awesome!
Sandgate locals know they live in one of the best places in Brisbane. The waterfront and village atmosphere of this beautiful suburb are the focal points. We make the most of the Brisbane weather by spending as much time in the outdoors either walking, cycling, fishing, kitesurfing and picnicking. If you are looking for beautiful pubs and restaurants, Sandgate has them both. Take a drive and spend the day in our neighbourhood and we are sure you will love it as much as us.
I grew up here in Brighton and I am now raising our son here and I must say I’m loving it. While I applaud the many wonderful changes that have occurred I am disappointed that some areas still remain neglected. Parts of the Sandgate foreshore have seen much better days. I like many others residents have noticed this since the maintenance of our footpaths and foreshore was contracted out. One thing I would love to see happen along the Brighton foreshore is what has been along the Sandgate beachfront for years. Things like more bbqs, covered picnic areas and doggie water stations are just a few things that will bring more residents and visitors along the foreshore and into local small businesses. I’ve never understood why it seems that Brighton is poor cousin to Sandgate.
