Sandgate’s charm really shines through its seasonal events and festivals! Our beautiful seaside setting and wonderful weather make it the perfect place to celebrate. From music and arts to food and local traditions, these festivals around Sandgate bring together residents and visitors to celebrate.

Here is a list of all our favourite festivals in Sandgate and nearby suburbs of north Brisbane, by month!

January Festivals

Music in the Park Scarborough

  • Date: Sunday 26 January, 2026
  • Location: Scarborough Beach Park, Scarborough

Celebrate Australia Day with friends. Take a picnic rug, fold-up chairs, water, sunscreen, and shade. Enjoy Moreton Bay entertainment and food trucks on site.

Australia Day on Bribie Island

Brennan Park and Chamber of Commerce Park play host to a cracking stage program of live music, there will be games, a few food trucks, market stalls and a good ole’ community sausage sizzle.

February Festivals

Moreton Bay Region Lunar New Year

The Moreton Bay Region Lunar New Year event brings vibrant celebrations of the East to Caboolture. It’s a family-fun evening to celebrate the start of the Chinese New Year.

March Festivals

Brisbane Cycling Festival

The Brisbane Cycling Festival features a line-up of rides, races, events, expos, and entertainment for cyclists of all abilities.

April Festivals

Bluewater Festival

  • Date: Thursday 2 and Friday 3 April, 2026 
  • Location: Moora Park, Shorncliffe

The famous Bluewater Festival at Shorncliffe Pier offers food, markets, entertainment, live bands, kids’ activities, and fireworks in conjunction with the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.

This annual Easter community event features rides for kids, show bags, animals, market stalls, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Pride Fest

  • Date: Saturday 18 April 2026, 10am – 4pm

May Festivals

The Hills Festival

The Hills come alive with fireworks, rides, entertainment and workshops for the month-long program of Hills Festival. Events are held in Arana Hills, Bunya, Draper, Everton Hills, Ferny Hills and Albany Creek.

Moreton Bay Multisport Festival

Held in May, the festival in Clontarf features twilight running conditions on Saturday and a triathlon on Sunday, raising funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

June Festivals

Caboolture Show

  • Date: Friday 5 June – Sunday 7 June, 2026
  • Location: Caboolture Showgrounds

Moreton Kids Festival

Moreton Kids Festival celebrates the wonder and boundless enthusiasm of youth, featuring a jam-packed program of family-friendly entertainment.

Redcliffe Show

  • Date: Friday 26 June – Sunday 28 June, 2026
  • Location: Redcliffe Showgrounds

Enjoy three days of rides, shows, animals, entertainment, and games at the Redcliffe Show.

Where We Belong Festival

Redcliffe’s biggest music festival at Picnic Hill features a showcase of headline and local bands, food trucks, merch stands, and a beer garden. This year’s headliners are The Screaming Jets.

Samford Show

  • Date: Saturday 13 July – Sunday 14 July 2024

An exciting and fun-packed show for the entire family, with plenty of entertainment and events, including a freestyle motocross display and bicycle stunt show, fireworks, food stalls, rides and more.

July Festivals

Bonfire Night

  • Date: Saturday 4 July, 2026
  • Location: Sandstone Point.

Bonfire Night at Sandstone Point Hotel features food trucks, fire twirlers, marshmallow roasting, campfire singalongs, live entertainment, flame shows, and pyro displays.

Dayboro Show

Abbey Medieval Festival

Samford Show

Backyard Bonanza

You will find lots of free fun activities for kids as well as several great performances showcasing local talent, children’s shows, professional bands, community and school choirs, dance groups and instrumental ensembles. Caboolture Christmas Carnival

It’s Christmas Carnival time so go along and browse all the wonderful stalls and grab a bite to eat.

The Big Man in the Red suit will be coming along for a visit with some goodies for all the children.

Woodford Folk Festival

Experience six days and nights of music, performers, craft displays, and the showcase Fire Event, just a short drive north-west of Caboolture.
