Creativity meets community once more at Sacred Heart Primary School in Sandgate with the return of Sacred heART Collective, a fundraising art show now featuring artisan markets.

The fun begins with a special Art Show Opening Night on Friday, 6 June. The 18+ event will feature artwork for sale by students and local artists, with a 20% commission from each sale going back to the school.

Sacred Heart Primary School Principal Sarah McDonald said, “The Sacred heART Collective is to raise money for STEM resources, including a 3D printer and programmable robotics, as we continue to embrace change and empower innovation.”

The exhibition continues on Saturday, 7 June, opening its doors to families and visitors for a full day of community-focused activities. In addition to the arts on display, guests can explore the brand-new Crafted with Heart artisan markets, the Heart & Soul Pre-Loved Clothing Markets, and a student-run Mini-Market.

The exhibition’s theme this year, ‘Sustain’, encourages students and community artists to reflect on what they value and protect most. Highlights include a collaborative artwork by Year Four students made from recycled materials, drawing attention to the need to protect migratory birds along the Sandgate foreshore. Year Five students have hand-sewn dolls expressing what matters most to them.

Tickets for the Art Show Opening Night are $10 at the door. For more information, email sacredheartcollective24@gmail.com or visit Sacred Heart Collective on Facebook and sacredheart_collective on Instagram.
