Did you know the creative process of making art can enhance your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing? Creativity is scientifically proven as a tool for healing and growth.
The heART of Storytelling Workshop
Learn more and feel the difference art can make to your happiness and wellbeing at the three-hour workshop, The heART of Storytelling, to be held at Womenspace this month. The workshop aims to provide a safe space for self-expression.
Workshop facilitator Pat Armitstead, an award-winning author, speaker and artist, said the need to create was fundamental to being human.
“Have you ever wished you could give expression to what lies in your soul? What if you could tap into your inner child and unleash hidden talents? I can show you how to bring colour, symbolism and form together in an art piece that tells the story you want to share with others,” Pat said.
“Research reveals that just 45 minutes of creative expression will reduce cortisol levels and even just one art experience a month can extend your life by 10 years.
“It is creativity, not strategy, that will take us through the coming years.”
You don’t have to be ‘artistic’ as the workshop is suitable for any level. The workshop cost of $75 covers materials and refreshments. Places are limited. For more information and to book, email pat@patarmitstead.com
