Easter Hops Into Sandgate

From the cooling weather, gorging on hot cross buns and commercially large chocolate eggs, Easter is a time for all.

Not only is it an extremely significant time for people of the Christian faith, but it is a period of three public holidays combined with a weekend, and who can complain about that?

Many people use this time to spend time with family, attend religious services, and enjoy the Easter sales that inevitably come with every Australian public holiday.

Easter hat parades are happening in primary schools, the school term is ending with exams and assignments being submitted, parents are preparing for egg hunts and chocolate galore, as well as 36 per cent of the nation who will be packing their bags to take a well-deserved break.

Although sometimes the world can seem bleak, don’t forget what is really important. Seeing your family and friends, enjoying our local Bluewater Festival, and falling asleep knowing an overgrown bunny comes into your house and leaves behind confectionery goods. Or perhaps a bilby. We are in Australia after all.

Happy Easter everyone, from the Journalist Club.
