A simple idea to connect women who love to walk, chat and read has taken off – it’s called the Hot Girl Walk Book Club, and it’s open to all women.

Founder Katrina West started the group last year when she hosted a casual group walk and book chat with friends.

“We went viral on TikTok, and it quickly grew from eight people to a regular community of more than 60 women joining our monthly Brisbane walks,” she said.

“The club is open to all young women, and we believe that all girls are hot girls!

“The main idea is creating a positive, welcoming space where young women can come together to move their bodies, meet friends and chat about books.”

The club runs two sessions in Southbank each month, and due to popular demand, one session a month in Sandgate.

The group read a mix of fiction including contemporary romance, thrillers and murder mysteries, which are voted on by the group and chosen to spark conversation.

“Anyone can join by purchasing tickets online at Eventbrite for $10,” Katrina said.

“Everyone who registers must be a member of the Hot Girl Walk Book Club Facebook group – that’s for safety, and also it’s where we do our coffee orders, have a group chat, vote on our book of the month, and where ticket swaps take place.”
