Those looking for a fresh fashion choice this season can consider the services of a local stylist who offers options for all women.
Annie Affleck of Annie Affleck Style operates out of Gate’s Edge Boutique and works closely with her clients in learning about their lifestyle, body type, budget and fashion goals.
Defining herself as a holistic personal stylist, Annie said she incorporates “mind, body, and spirit,” leaning into her additional experience as a qualified wellbeing coach for women.
“Our emotions and internal self represent how we show up and show the world who we are,” she said.
Annie said that after spending her whole adult life helping those around her put outfits together, she realised “it was time to make it real,” which is how her business came to be.
Her role at Gate’s Edge Boutique involves “helping her beautiful customers and supporting them in creating their signature looks with cutting-edge labels and designs.”
“Together we look at the existing wardrobe and eliminate what’s not working, what the gaps are, and find outfits that flatter and boost confidence so that every day they can walk out the door and feel like a million dollars (and that doesn’t mean having to spend a million),” she said.
“I had an awesome new client recently, and every single piece she bought was from Kmart – she was so happy and felt amazing in all the outfits.”
Style Trends and Seasonal Inspiration
For the season ahead, Annie said it was all about vibrant green, cobalt blue, ocean-inspired hues, and chocolate, as well as coordinate sets, boho crochet pieces and lots of lace, tulle and mesh.
“One of my favourite looks is teaming a strapless dress that serves as a base with a lightweight cape for an elevated chic outfit, adding some statement earrings and a great clutch,” she said.
She said that styles such as these were perfect to wear to a ladies’ long lunch, such as at the Full Moon Hotel, or to dinner at one of Sandgate’s many local restaurants.
