A celebration of style, community spirit and giving back is set to take centre stage as the Quota Club of Sandgate prepares for its annual fashion parade.

The event will be held on Saturday, 4 July at Geebung RSL, raising funds to support disadvantaged women and children, as well as hearing and speech initiatives, local schools and community services.

Quota Club of Sandgate Secretary Jeanette Trappett said last year’s fashion parade helped deliver the Vox Hearing system into local schools.

“The school was so appreciative, and this will not only help with the ability to hear clearer in the classroom, but it will also build their confidence and self-esteem,” Jeanette said.

“The money raised will not only help with the hearing systems within the schools but will also help us work with the schools for families who need assistance.”

She said guests at this year’s event could look forward to “new season clothing, great raffles and lucky door prizes” along with a “delicious morning tea in a friendly, inviting atmosphere with lots of opportunity to make new contacts.”

Fashion, Purpose, and Community Impact

Fashion on the day will be provided by Portofino, a Brisbane-based fashion retailer offering Australian-made clothing for women aged 50 and over, with a focus on comfort, style and affordability.

The fashion parade reflects the broader mission of the Quota Club of Sandgate, a not-for-profit group committed to service, care and friendship. The club supports a wide range of local initiatives and organisations, including Aspley Care, Sandgate Meals on Wheels, Hear and Say Centre, Aussie Helpers and Hummingbird House, as well as school-based programs and international sponsorships.

The club gathers monthly and regularly hosts a stall in Sandgate on the last Friday of most months outside the Commonwealth Bank, offering an opportunity for the community to connect with members.

Jeanette said attendees would leave this month’s event not only entertained but with “the knowledge that all the proceeds from the day will be going to help make a difference to others” with “all money raised…going to help our local communities”.

Tickets are $35 per person, including light nibbles and entry into raffles. RSVP by 20 June. For tickets, email quotasandgate@gmail.com or call 0493 042 347.
