Three local artists will present their first exhibition together at Gallery 4017 this month, showcasing a collection of handmade works across a range of artistic mediums.

The exhibition, With These Hands, opens on Friday, 14 August, and features Rebel, Toni and Bywa, who were brought together through family before discovering a shared passion for art. While each artist has developed a distinct creative style, the exhibition reflects their individual stories and experiences through handmade works.

“We are expressing our personal narratives and the stories that have influenced us, by offering what we have created with our hands to celebrate the creative essence of who we are,” Rebel said.

“We are very proud of how we have stepped into the joy of creating, how we are making dreams come true, meeting challenges and finding joy as we have come together. We hope people will find their own connections and experiences when they see what we have put forward to share, a diverse range of art expressing unique stories while celebrating the joy of creativity.”

Celebrating Creativity Through Diverse Art Forms

Jewellery, sculpture, paintings and appliquéd denim jackets will be on display, created using clay, acrylic paint, plaster and other mixed media.

The exhibition also marks the first time Bywa has publicly exhibited her artwork.

“I’m beyond excited and incredibly proud to be doing my first exhibition,” Bywa said. “It’s a special milestone, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my work with others.”

The exhibition runs until Saturday, 11 September.
