Student Representative Council

High school is tough. Let’s be honest. From waking up at 6am, wearing the same uniform every day, to spending afternoons studying for tests instead of hanging out with friends – it’s a challenging routine.

But for me, my perspective on high school changed when the Student Representative Council (SRC) was created.

The SRC gives students a voice, the opportunity to pitch ideas, establish events, organise charities and create clubs, and not only make a difference to their schooling experience but others’ as well.

Over the years, the council has sparked the interest of more students, bringing even more ideas to life like Non-Uniform Day.

Finding Confidence and Community in the SRC

The SRC has not only provided students with the opportunity to make a difference but has also given them the confidence to pursue their ideas and passions and let their voices be heard.

When I was in Year 7, I didn’t have the confidence to pitch my ideas, to try to make a difference.

But, after seeing all the work the council had done, and seeing students like me make the school better, I knew it was my calling.

I’ve been a member of the SRC for three years now, and I haven’t regretted a single moment of it.
