Relive the magic of two of the greatest bands in history when The Sands Bowlo hosts two ultimate tribute bands over the coming months.

Shout it out loud at KISSperience – The Ultimate KISS Tribute Show in May, then twist and shout in June when The Beatlegs hit the stage.

Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for KISSperience, Pete ‘Starchild’ Haselam, who performs as Paul Stanley, said his passion for KISS began when he was nine, during their first Australian tour in 1980. He formed the tribute band in 2007.

“We spend a lot of time rehearsing, studying video footage and honing our setlist so that when we hit the stage, we are not only musically tight but we can also embody the vocal stylings, stage mannerisms and the ‘take no prisoners’ attitude of the four original KISS members that we know and love!” Pete said.

Audiences can expect a show filled with KISS hits like I Was Made For Lovin’ You, Rock And Roll All Nite and Detroit Rock City.

“Basically, you get a faithful reproduction of a makeup-era KISS concert, including effects such as the iconic light-up KISS logo, smoking guitar, fire breathing, guitar destruction, confetti, smoke machines, authentic period correct costuming (currently 1976 Destroyer era) and instruments,” Pete said.

Get Ready to Twist, Shout, and Sing Along

On 7 June, The Beatlegs will take the stage with A Night of Beatles Classics.

Paul Verni, who portrays Ringo Starr, said the tribute band was founded nearly 20 years ago by Shaun Croaker, who plays John Lennon.

“If you want to be in a Beatles show and deliver a tribute to one of the best bands of all time, you really need to do it right and I believe we bring that in our show,” Paul said.

The band performs classic Beatles hits such as I Saw Her Standing There, Twist and Shout and Help.

“We have instruments that are unique to what The Beatles used – the grey oyster Ludwig drum kit to the Hoffner violin-looking bass that Paul used and the ‘Rocky’ guitar George Harrison used,” Paul said.

“We have costume changes going through the years and eras of the Beatles music, from the grey suits to the psychedelia period of Sgt Pepper and at times the ‘rooftop’ era, where all our hair is long.”

He said there may be surprises in store at The Sands Bowlo show.

“We always bring our little surprises and our unique accents are to impress!” he said. “Oh, and Ringo might actually sing!”

Tickets for both shows start at $15. To book, go to thesandsbowlo.com.au
