Rock Under the Clock returns this month at a new venue, but with the same classic rock ‘n’ roll spirit beloved by the northside community.
Fans of 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll can mark their calendars for 25 October, when Jim Hansen and The Sonics headline Rockin’ Into Summer at the Pine Rivers Showgrounds Hall in Lawnton, joined by guest artist Nicky Steel.
The move from Sandgate Town Hall marks a big change for the event, and Rock Under the Clock chairman Rod Kippen said it was not an easy decision to make.
“Rock Under the Clock has become an institution in the 4017 area, so it is with nostalgic reluctance that we have decided to change the venue from the Sandgate Town Hall to the Pine Rivers Showgrounds Hall at Lawnton,” Rod said.
Limited capacity and an overcrowded dance floor at the previous venue meant many fans missed out, prompting the decision to relocate.
Event Details
Rod said the Pine Rivers Showground Hall ticked all the boxes and that they were looking forward to the inaugural event this month.
“This event will have a ‘summer’ theme covering 50s, 60s pop rock music of the era, including a sprinkling of surfing tunes by notable artists such as The Beach Boys, The Atlantics and more,” he said.
“Jivers will be delighted with the live stage music line-up and the very generous dance floor.”
As always, the night will support a good cause, with funds going towards the Queensland Blue Light Association.
A complimentary guest refreshment pack will be handed out on arrival.
Tickets start at $49. Get your tickets here.
